People often assume a chauffeured fare is distance multiplied by a rate. It rarely is. Two journeys of the same length can be quoted very differently, and understanding why makes it easier to book well.
Time of day matters more than mileage
A 12-mile airport run at 10am on a Sunday and the same run at 5pm on a Thursday are not the same job. The second one occupies the vehicle and chauffeur for perhaps twice as long. Because the fare is fixed before you travel, that risk sits with us rather than with you, which is precisely why the quote reflects it.
Dead miles
Every journey has a leg before and after it. A chauffeur positioning from a garage 40 minutes away, or finishing in a location with nothing nearby, is time nobody is riding for. Journeys that start and end in dense areas price better than the same distance in a remote one.
Vehicle class
An SUV costs more to run than a sedan and a Sprinter more again. Booking the class that actually fits your party rather than the largest available is the simplest saving there is.
Waiting and stops
Waiting time and additional stops are quoted separately because they extend the booking. Tell us about stops when you book rather than adding them on the day, and they will be priced into the fare instead of added to it.
What lowers a fare
- Booking round trips together rather than separately
- Choosing the right vehicle class instead of the biggest
- Giving a flight number, so we are not padding for uncertainty
- Booking regular journeys on an account, where rates can be agreed in advance
What is always included
Tolls on the direct route, flight tracking, the included waiting time, and a licensed chauffeur. Gratuity is never added automatically, and there is no surge pricing at any hour.
