How Flight Tracking Actually Works

July 25, 2026· 5 min read·BLVK Luxury Transportation

What an operator sees, when the pickup time moves, and why the flight number matters more than the time you think you will land.

Flight tracking is the least visible part of an airport booking and the part that most often saves it.

What we are watching

Once you give us a flight number, the booking is linked to that flight's live status: departure, en route position, estimated arrival and gate arrival. The chauffeur's instructions update from that data rather than from the time you typed when booking.

When the pickup moves

If the aircraft is running 50 minutes late, the pickup moves 50 minutes later and nobody is charged for the gap. If it lands early, the chauffeur is told to arrive early. Neither requires a phone call from you.

Why waiting starts at touchdown

Included waiting time runs from actual landing, not from the scheduled time or from when you booked. That is the only version that is fair when a flight is late.

Diversions and cancellations

A diversion is the one case where we will call you, because the decision is yours: wait, reposition to the new airport, or cancel. A cancellation by the airline means no charge.

What breaks it

Booking without a flight number. Then we are working from a timetable, and a delayed flight becomes a waiting charge and a chauffeur standing in the wrong place at the wrong time.
